Australia tried to redeem all of the questions raised about their form in last two ODIs in a single one. Even though they have already lost the series, they made a statement that they are not to be taken lightly. They had intention of making a good total as Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh completed their centuries in quick time but the largest contribution on reaching such record high score was from Cameron Green. Creating his personal best, he put 118 runs on the table in 55 balls. It was nearly impossible for South Africa to chase it and they struggled from the start. They were all out before playing half of the allocated balls and lost by a big margin of 276 runs.
Australia are a strong team so they should not be taken lightly, and I don't think anyone will take Australia lightly. But this match was not so important for South Africa as they won the series with one match to spare.
Australia lost the first two matches due to the failure of the batsmen, if the Australian batsmen could have performed well in the first two matches like today then Australia could have won the series. In the first two matches, the South African batsmen performed well, due to which they won. But today South Africa will lose but I didn't expect them to lose by such a big margin. Dewald Brevis scored 49 runs for South Africa today which was the highest score, besides the performance of other batsmen was not good. Australia turned around but it was too late.
