I think when things come to Aussies ego and team dignity then we will have always such kind of new surprises and record to be wrote. No doubt Australian were really off colour and completely out track in recent two match, but now they scored almost same of previous match proteas target combinely in single match and brutally punished thier opponent in order to keep his dominance alive.
This big victory would help Australia to forget their series defeat by 2 - 1. Personally, I wasn't expecting to see anything like this. Finally, Travis Head has shown his capability in today's match. Where Cameron Green has shown more powerful batting performance than Travis Head in the match. Unfortunately, Australia couldn't break their previous highest ODI score record. They were 3 runs short from their past record. They had scored 434 runs against South Africa in 2006 and lost that match Smiley.
It was truly a great innings from Australia. Only four batsmen scored 430+ runs on the scoreboard. Three of the top order batsmen scored centuries and the fourth batsman would have scored a century if the over had not ended. Australia performed well under pressure and this match may be the biggest proof of that. Australia lost the series to South Africa by a big margin in the first two matches, and similarly, if Australia had lost the third match against South Africa, then they would have been whitewashed against South Africa. Only to avoid the shame of this whitewash, they batted so aggressively in the first innings and scored 430+. Seeing the batting of these two, green and head, it seemed that they were not playing an ODI match but they were playing a T20 match. Many congratulations to Team Australia for giving such an innings after a long time.
