Re: Is it easy to be a responsible player?
It is very easy to be a responsible gambler, when you practice it from onset, then you will master the act of being responsible.
But if have been addicted along the line and you suddenly wants to be responsible, it will be a very difficult task to accomplish. So your question has a two face and as well will have a two faced answer of Yes and No.
Even those gamblers that are not addicted but practicalize the limit control approach to limit and control their gambling activities still find it a big job to cope up with things as following that principle all the time, let say that you have to put up against your desire all the time when you have a limit control in place this makes the approach a hard job, that approach is what we call responsible gambling but you can see that to achieve that you will be needing a lot of patience and endurance to the limit you have set.
If a gambler has already lost a lot of money by gambling, then I would say that maybe when that gambler gambled, his idea about gambling was not clear and he may have gambled unplannedly with excessive risk of money, which is why he lost so much money. Now, seeing that this gambler had lost money before, he gambled randomly to recover that money, but this will increase his chances of losing money even more, so I think a gambler should forget the past and gamble responsibly from the present. It is difficult to be a responsible gambler, but gamblers who gamble responsibly make fewer wrong decisions and are never seen in excessive haste when gambling. There are many gamblers who forget that they have a family or that they are already in debt while gambling. When they lose money again, they feel that what they did was wrong. So there is no point in regretting after losing everything, but we should try to protect what we have.
