But the reason why it's common here is that, this is the typical method of making corrections in Nigeria. If you think back to your school days, you'll remember that some teachers were gentle in their corrections, while others were stricter. We have different kinds of individuals here with different methods of explanation, so newbies shouldn't take it personally if they've been corrected in harsh words.
