Leverkusen was defeated by Hoffenheim in their first match of the Bundesliga season. this was a disappointing loss, as Leverkusen were playing at home, and it was also Erik ten Hag’s debut. many had expected Leverkusen to win, but instead, Hoffenheim emerged victorious by capitalizing on their chances, scoring two goals against the hosts. this outcome is particularly disappointing, as the public had hoped Ten Hag would bring positive changes to Leverkusen, especially after the team acquired new players that should have made their performance more promising. however, this defeat suggests that the restructuring carried out by Ten Hag has not yet proven successful.
Seriously, I was also disappointed seeing this result but honestly, I was not expecting much from Leverkusen because I knew their squad would not be strong again after they lost some of their players, and they did not sign great players. But despite losing great players, this is not the kind of team I was expecting to defeat Leverkusen. When they are the host of the game, they should try and at least draw. One of the painful parts is that Hoffenheim made a comeback. With the result they have gotten today, the pressure will now be on Ten Hag's head, because even before, many people were underrating him, thinking he would not deliver based on his performance at Manchester United.
