Second loss for Sevilla this season, if they continue like this they will keep losing match after match. The team is in problems on and off the pitch as the fans wants the board out. Today's game was highly controlled my Sevilla but silly mistakes made them go down two times.
I don't think it is over for the team but something needs to start working for the especially with the board issues because it has a psychological effect on the team and the fans.
In the last two seasons, Sevilla have actually not performed like the Sevilla teams that were doing exceptionally well in the Spanish La Liga and winning UEFA Europa League competitions. Last season, they finished just one place above relegation which o think should be enough to have forced the club's management to do a serious overhauling this summer but it seems the actions they've taken already to improve the club's performance isn't enough.
Two defeats in their first two league games and already a relegation candidate. Just like you, I don't think it's over for them but they'll need to be improve significantly in the coming weeks or end up making it an impossible journey for them to survive relegation.
The transfer market is still open, and Sevilla management and club officials should take that opportunity to recruit several new players. Regardless of the unstable financial condition, they must find a solution to improve the squad depth. If not, the consequences are very clear, Sevilla will truly be relegated this season. Sevilla management might be able to use the player loan option as the best solution to work around the budget constraints.
Sevilla effort to rise and secure full points in the next match is wide open, as they will face a team with not much different strength, which is Girona. This is a good opportunity that Sevilla must not miss, but nevertheless, anything can happen. It would be a great shame if Sevilla ultimately had to fall into the relegation zone.
