I was thinking that Liverpool will have serious issues this year due to the death od Jota but seeing how they started the season, i will not remove them from the list of the team that will likely win the league trophy this year. Beating Bournemouth is not an easy task yet they did it and what they played Newcastle is a confirmation of their readiness to challenge any team and prevail. Although luck played a role in their victory against Newcastle because that match ought to be a draw.
Yes, it seems Liverpool can still be expected to be among the teams competing for the title this season. But we also have to realize that Liverpool played a little weaker than last season. Well, we have to be honest about this. Liverpool even now has gaps in their back line that will likely be difficult to fix. Liverpool's defense is still strong, but not as strong as last season. So I doubt Liverpool will be superior to other teams this season. In fact, I think Arsenal now feels stronger. In the match against Newcastle, I even thought Liverpool should have been able to do more than that in the second half. Especially since Liverpool played with a full squad while Newcastle were reduced to 10 men after Anthony Gordon received a red card at the end of the first half.
