Kenya was once a good team and they even played semi final of ODI World Cup 2003. With time their performance was supposed to improve but Kenya went down in performance and now Kenya can't even compete in tournaments where team like Kuwait, Jersey are playing. Kenya is 6th on points table of CWC Challenge League Group A 2024-2026 just ahead of Qatar. Same scenario happened with Zimbabwe, now Zimbabwe is trying to make a return in international cricket but it's becoming harder for them.
Well... Kenya was a good team. But that was before the ICC killed cricket in that country. Their team has been on a constant downward journey ever since 2003. Uganda has overtaken them, and it is quite possible that they will fall behind the other teams in the region, such as Tanzania, Rwanda and Malawi in the near future. The ICC remains indifferent to the concerns of associate nations. They spend huge amounts to prop-up Zimbabwe every year, but at the same time refuse to provide enough funds to teams like Kenya.
