I recently encountered an ad from youtube about a gambling platform and it featured a very popular celebrity in my country. It was short but a good amount of time was dedicated at the end warning gamblers that gambling will not be the solution to their financial problems and it will not improve their economic status. It got my nod of approval because it really is that easy. But some governments still think that this kind of warning is not enough for gamblers to stay responsible. But don’t you think that a constant reminder can wake someone up from delusion? What do you think? Is this enough or should there be more ways to promote responsible gambling?
I think this is enough. The government never forces anyone to gamble, nor can the government openly advertise gambling because there are some constraints there too. The government now gets a lot of revenue from gambling platforms. If a celebrity advertises like this and says these things at the end, I think there is no better suggestion than this advice. Now the control completely will depend only on the gambler.
Considering as a celebrity, I think this is better advice. The celebrity is encouraging gambling, while also educating people about the negative aspects of excessive gambling.
I think that the more warnings there are, the better. Firstly, this removes responsibility directly from the casino or betting company for manipulating and deceiving players. Plus, overly gambling-prone players, if they constantly see such warnings, might eventually come across the right words that could help them keep themselves under control.
