Perhaps it has something to do with the time we dedicate to gambling, whether we do it for fun, or even if we have other things that take up most of our free time, like family, sports, exercise, or spending time with the people we love.
There is nothing special that goes through a responsible gamblers mind, it is just a different of mentality and engagement to real life necessity that makes one vulnerable to gambling while the other does it responsibly. like the saying goes, "An idle man is the devils workshop" most of the idle people that do not have some really engaging things are the ones that end up using gambling as an escape to their idleness. the common thing about most responsible gamblers is that they only gamble when they want to. they are not moved by someone's win or the news of some people winning. they just go at their own pace and are never gambling because they want to win something too huge. that kind of mentality alone keeps them away from anything that will drag them into gambling in an irresponsible manner.

same is the case with addicted gambler, what they have in common is the false narrative that gives them an impression that they will hit jackpot if they can only give it another try.
