I don't even believe that unemployment could be the reason why people are gambling when gambling doesn't make any one rich overnight rather you will keep losing the one you have to gambling until when you get lucky to win something you may still lose to them. Gambling doesn't make anyone to be financially stable it takes more from people if the government decides to put a stop to gambling it will take them many years to achieve that result because there are so many ways to gamble be it online or offline and people have already secured different ways of gambling the government can not discover all the ways so they can't successfully put a stop to it.
You have to believe it bruh because that's a real fact that can be found within many developing societies that are plagued with widespread unemployment. The hopes in making some fortune through gambling attracts them to give it a shot wishing they could just make some money or hit the jackpot somehow out of luck.

Yes, agreed that there are some dissidents who may try assessing those prohibited gambling sites through the use of VPN but it won't be like when there's no restriction at all. There's reason why there's leadership in states and countries, and in everything we do. It's for the purpose of charting a way forward for others. If the leadership of a country feels gambling may derail its people and decides to ban it, it doesn't mean it's not aware that citizens will also feel impact of such restriction. It's just that it's looking at the large picture of what its action will result to.

Also, when gambling is banned in a country; it's obvious government of that country will equally lose revenue in form of taxes from that. Government knows all that.
Banning of gambling activities has always being the last resort from government in trying to restrict their citizens from it. So after banning it, what's next? Because in most of these countries where gambling addiction is prevalent it is due to high rate of underemployment and unemployment among the citizens and it just feels like they can get something out of gambling hence their massive engagement
I agree with you because looking at countries were gambling is prevalent is because people are not well engaged especially the youths that is why they resort to gambling as the last option so governments should create avenues were the gambling population will be meaningful engaged  after banning gambling from a country
