To be fair to BCCI, they are consistently show it's degenerate attitude and hardly give respect or proper fairwell match to anyone.
Tbh don't remember any name except maybe sachin or possibly fake ass opportunity to ganguly and Nehra ji ( by captain, i guess).
Maybe Pujara is not as important as some of the superstars in the team? BCCI is a money-minded organization and unless there is a huge backlash, they are not going to mend their ways. And in this case, even fans of Pujara didn't complained about the lack of a farewell match (that is the impression that I got when I browsed through the social media). The BCCI has bigger things to worry about now. The end of fantasy sports betting in India has put a huge hole in their pocket. They are busy with trying to find an alternative.
Feels like I am repeating here but it's not like they gave grand farewell to Virat, who took india to new heights in test cricket and changed the team culture (fitness etc), 5 test mace in a row is not a joke. Even legend like Ashwin took retirement mid series.
Big star or not, these guys just have completely different priorities and they have no shame in displaying it again n again.
