Now that sports betting is growing bigger and bigger, should gambling ads be just normalized during sports matches or should it stay separate from sports? What's your stance on gambling ads during sport matches?
It's dangerous no doubt about it, but if I remember correctly, you need to bid in order for your advertisement to be placed on TV, so if you pay higher, there's a higher chance that you will be shown as well. Correct me with this one, but this is what I know... or at least in our country.
Anyway, this is bad as it influences those teenagers that are below the required age to gamble to gamble, but at the same time, these kiddos are also seeing gambling advertisements on other platforms as well so what's the difference? It's bad, but is there anything that we can do about it so that these kiddos will not see gambling ads either in TV or online? A total ban on gambling ads being posted on TV might work, but only if the news outlet allow it.
At the end of the day, people can put gambling ads everywhere they want to, but we will still be the one to decide on whether we will gamble or not.
