Benfica deserved the win after fighting so hard in the second leg, so everyone will see Benfica in the Champions League this season. However, I also regret Fenerbahçe's defeat, as the team was capable of fighting, even though they couldn't equalize in the second leg with a goal in the 35th minute by a Benfica player. And because of that victory, Benfica's players will surely be quite motivated to continue their domestic season in their own league, hoping to challenge for the title this season.

I stated before the match that both teams find it difficult to defeat each other every time they meet, but Benfica always finds a way to win. Benfica is very strong in the Champions League, even last season they were very strong and got eliminated by Barcelona, both teams played well but the better team win the match, Benfica win the match with a good performance and strong defense.

Fenerbahçe tried their hardest but were unable to capitalise on their home advantage; it will be good to see Jose Mourinoh and his team in the Champions League this season, but their performance is insufficient to qualify; Benfica has qualified and has young talented players who are very capable of making the team perform well in the Champions League this season, but they always struggle to defeat big opponents in the competition.

Jose Mourinho tried his best for Fenerbahce because he played draw against Benfica in the first leg and if not for the red card they got in the second leg match yesterday, the match could have ended in a draw and probably, a penalty shoot-out would have happened. Benfica is a very tough team from the Portuguese league but for Fenerbahce to only concede one goal shows that Jose Mourinho really did a perfect job in their defense. Now that Fenerbahce has been kicked out of the Champions League qualification round, Mourinho should now prepare the team ahead of their Turkish Super League games.
