This is why the drawing is a bit crooked. I mean its not "fake" or corrupt or anything like that, I believe it is fair. But the system has to change without a doubt. Fenerbahce is a 300 million euro club, instead of them, Kairat is going, Pafos is going, Qarabag is going and such. I mean I get it, we are seeing smaller teams have a chance to play at UCL thanks to this and that's good for them, but its not great for football.
Because there is a 99% chance these teams will finish with either 1 point or zero point, because of how small they are and how everyone else is better than them. They should be at conference league or Europa league level at best. Because of bad drawing luck, two of the biggest teams in qualifying matched each other.
The other day, someone was complaining that it's only the rich teams that win. Today, another person is complaining that the richer team or the bigger team should qualify ahead of the smaller teams.
I honestly didn't believe anybody would complain about this. Fenerbache had their chance to qualify against Benfica, but they couldn't and now Benfica is here while they're not. Isn't football by merit anymore?
Or do you want only teams from the big football league to play in the Champions League and leave no chance for the smaller leagues? Then teams like Manchester Unted should play in the champions league if so.
There is no such thing as rich or poor in football. Many teams have bought many big players with a lot of money. That's why we can't call that team rich. It takes a lot of money to run a club. Those who can afford it run the club. But it seems like that because there are many new clubs, for example, if a very new club plays with a very old club, then many people will not recognize the new club and there will not be many players among the new ones. In the first place, it is very natural. That's why if we call that new club poor, it will never be right.
