Why are Chelsea fans so excited to play against Barcelona, i have heard it from a few Chelsea fans, most of them really wanted PSG as well.
Chelsea - Barcelona will be a tough game, i will love to see who the bookies will give the biggest and lowest odds.
They are so excited because they believe they can handle the high line strategies used by Barcelona and turn it into their weakness instead. Well, I would love to see that happen
. In fact, I would really love for it to happen soon just to clear the air. It seems the wish to see Barcelona face Chelsea and PSG has been granted, and now I just want it to be decided once and for all. The bookies will probably give both teams close to similar odds, but it’s likely Barcelona has lesser odds compared to Chelsea (maybe).Basically, Chelsea will have to readapt when playing in the Champions League, not only because they've been absent for the past two seasons, but also because the format of the Champions League has now changed. Besides that, Enzo Maresca doesn't have much experience in the Champions League, so instead of being excited, Chelsea fans should be more worried. It's not easy to get through the League Phase, even teams of the caliber of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and even PSG looked overwhelmed last season.
In my opinion, PSG is more favored than Barcelona by the bookmakers, and Barcelona is more favored than Chelsea. Chelsea success in the Club World Cup is impressive, but the intensity of competition in the Champions League will be very different. Nevertheless, considering Chelsea has managed to win the trophy twice, they certainly have good confidence in facing this season competition for the trophy.
It’s quite okay to say that Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca doesn’t have any champions league experience yet, but that doesn’t mean he’s not experienced in European football competition. Last season during his first season at Chelsea even without any European competition experience he ended up winning the Europa Conference league although many will argue that it comprises of more lesser teams in Europe but the fact that he’s been able to carry this team around and travel different European countries for away games and conquered, not quite long ago after the triumph in the Conference league, they had a more bigger test to compete among the biggest teams in the world stage in the just concluded FIFA club World Cup in the United States and they won it in style against the defending European champions (PSG). These are testament to see that this Chelsea team is ready to compete among the biggest teams in Europe, I think that Chelsea’s presence in the competition is really going to make the competition exciting again because they always bring different kind of Energy and vibes to the competition, it’s really going to be an exciting one.
