Burnley had a record-breaking defensive season last year - I think they conceded only 16 goals in 46 Championship games.
I read somewhere that they didn't concede more than 1 goal in any of those games.
It's an incredible stat if you think about it and although they lost Egan-Riley and Trafford I still believe they are defensively solid.
From what I saw against Sunderland, their defense is quite impressive. Maxime Estève looks like a player destined for a bigger club — I honestly don’t see him staying at Burnley beyond next season.
I know it might be a bit early to say that, but he has that natural sense of positioning, reads the game very well, and is absolutely dominant in aerial duels. He really feels like a complete centre-back. I’m convinced he’ll be playing for a top club in no time.
