Based on past results Sri Lanka is stronger team and due to this they can win first ODI against Zimbabwe as they have dominant record in their head to head matchups. However Zimbabwe should not be counted out completely. Since they are playing at home they will have support of their fans and will be more used to local conditions which could give them extra edge. And now match has been started already and Sri Lanka is playing at this time they have lost one wicket and Kusal and Panthum are playing at this time and making a good partnership. CRR is little low but I hope they will manage it. They made 81 runs almost in 20 overs.
Sri Lanka set a strong target of 299 in their innings, giving Zimbabwe a real challenge in this first ODI. Though the chase didn't start well for Zimbabwe as they lost two quick wickets in the very first over. However, a solid partnership from Ben Curran and Sean Williams, giving their side some hope. The target is still within reach, but Zimbabwe cannot afford to lose more wickets at this stage. If this partnership continues to grow, it could set the platform for a strong push towards victory.
