Fenerbahce is a good team and they deserved a place in the Europa League, but to play in the Champions League you need to meet higher standards, and obviously you need to invest much more money than Fenerbahce did. You can look at the example of Galatasaray, but it seems to me that none of the Turkish teams are capable of reaching this level yet, because it requires a lot of funding, which Fenerbahce apparently does not have. Maybe Mourinho's dismissal does not seem unexpected, but I was not sure that this would happen after the loss to Benfica.
The loss against Benfica was painful to me because I wanted two clubs from the Turkish league to be in the Champions League. With two clubs, their chances of making an impact will be high. But it turned out that Fenerbahce was not prepared to face Benfica. The attack was blunt in the second leg, as there was no single shot on target. Mourinho doesn't deserve to be sacked but his loquacious nature was one of his undoings.
