When I read an article about a gambler with addiction, I noticed that he often mentioned that when he started to accumulate debts among friends, and loans from banks, he began to eat worse, stopped buying new clothes. He began to live in the Syndrome of Deferred Life. What kind of syndrome is this?

Deferred life syndrome - is a psychological condition in which a person constantly postpones a full life, happiness and satisfaction of their needs to an indefinite future.

Do you think problem gamblers can save on themselves to start living in the "bright future" they hope for after a big win at the casino?
The same goes for problem bettors and sports betting.

I had never heard of this syndrome, but from what I saw in the definition, it fits perfectly with the living conditions of more than 70% of the people in my country, and I'm talking about more than 70% of people who haven't gotten involved in gambling. I know that many people tend to alarm others because of the addiction. They keep talking about gambling addiction as if it were a disease that affected thousands of people every day.

When in fact, despite being a disease, it's something that hasn't become a pandemic. That's why I don't see any reason to talk about it much. If we were to take 10 people who started getting involved in gambling, probably less than 20 people would have an addiction. It's not an alarming number.
