I’ve also noticed that when people outside of our crypto community see the word “app,” their first thought is always App Store or Google Play. Very few of them would ever think of Telegram mini-apps unless they’re already deep into crypto or Web3 communities. That makes it harder for a casual user to even take the first step, because instead of testing the promo, they end up frustrated just searching for something that doesn’t exist in the usual stores.
Maybe the project should make it more clear right away that this is a Telegram app — even a simple line like “Open in Telegram” with a direct link could help avoid confusion.
Hmm... Do you think this is somehow related to the crypto community?

Personally, I've launched Telegram mini-apps a few times, and indeed most of them were in one way or another connected to cryptocurrencies. But it honestly never crossed my mind that Telegram mini-apps, in general, are something that belongs to the crypto world. I'm really curious now how many mini-apps exist that have nothing to do with crypto at all.

On the main point, I realized while writing this that I myself tend to use the word "mini-app" for such applications. And the word "app" for me is also strongly associated with mobile OS app stores.

I also asked my wife. The phrase "Open in Telegram" means nothing to her at all. It looks strange and confusing. Maybe even discouraging, because she's never seen any "Open" button inside Telegram.

Perhaps if it simply said "mini-app", that could at least make people stop and think: what is this and where do I find it?
