Seriously, I don't even know who this guy is, the way Chelsea are just signing players left, right and centre I really don't understand. Are they trying to have players that will fill an entire stadium! With the way they are signing players, one might just wake up one to check his mail and he will be surprised to see that Chelsea has signed him without his knowledge.
Very funny. Chelsea's aggressive signings shouldn't be a surprise to us because they've been doing it few seasons back. Have you forgotten that they spent around £1B in two seasons on players, so whatever they choose to do shouldn't surprise us. I might have to send them a video of me kicking a ball, and I guess I might be signed as well.
Jokes aside, I think having a strong quality depth is important as well. Not all managers like too many players though, like pep for example, but I guess for a manager like Maresca, he absolutely likes having enough squad for rotation, and it's good to see that the Chelsea board can give him. Morever, they are good at balancing their books.
Chelsea gives every new player a long term contract. That's how they can sign many new players without disrupting their books and violating FFP rules. However, this move looks like just a business, rather than a long term investment. So far, Chelsea have been quite successful with this style of transfer, I mean they've won trophies while doing business by buying and selling players. Actualy, having a bloated squad doesn't necessarily make a manager happy, as it also adds to the burden of accommodating playing time for all of their players, although on the one hand managers have more freedom in carrying out rotations.
