There are several problems for developing countries:
1) Corruption. This is clear to most people. There are many kinds of corruption done both through illegal and legal means. This is draining a lot of resources.
2) Government inefficiency. Massive issue, often underestimated. In most countries despite the number of government employees, most services are slow, bad or both. A lot of government jobs are life jobs, meaning that the worst people in existence work there and don't get fired.
3) Debt. This one is unclear to most people. Most countries are suffering massive budget losses to interest payments and debt repayment. Instead of the people's taxes being used to improve things, a big portion is being given to rich institutions and money lenders. Debt is good for emergencies or large projects that will generate more revenue than interest and debt payments combined. This is very rarely the case. The rich have managed to enslave most countries this way.

Major improvements on any of these 3 will make a country advance rapidly, and improving all 3 will give you guaranteed prosperity. Do not get debt.

So what do you think is your country missing to get out of being a third world country stage?
Yes. I think my country is missing out big time. Leadership is a big problem in my country. When leadership is poor so will be policies and every other thing. My country has the capacity to be the top economy but our leadership problem will continue to holds us back. Many years ago, we were at the same level with Singapore. Infact, we use to make export of palm fruits to them but many years after they have become more developed than us. My country is blessed with numerous natural resources which the leadership continues to steal and the commonwealth of the nation are being sold off no wonder a lot of young folks are leaving the country in droves for a better life. Until there is a leadership change we will never be able to beat being a poor country.
And who is electing the leaders? Smiley
well, this your know of who's electing the leaders? It's a delegate question,do our votes count?
Every one in office or in power already knows who his successor will be,in this case it's already hard to disappoint any body you have promised power.the masses now suffer from what they do not know,it's just a leader impossed on the people.with this kind of leaders no body is holding this people in power accountable and they do what ever they like.
Until a leader that has a heart for the masses come to rule and lead the people, these developing countries will continue to suffer because everyone is coming for self and personal gain.
