One of main problem in the football transfer these days is inflation. Time flies so fast in football. I'm getting shocked when Newcastle paid 90m for a striker who came from nowhere. Meanwhile, 90m could give us Ronaldo at 2009. It seems the inflation in football is uncontrollable.
Sometimes, i think football these days much more on business instead of passion. Priced a player that literally no one’s heard of close to the 100m is so crazy as hell. Things worsen when Newcastle agreed to buy him.
We may be seeing 4th tier player may be priced millions soon.
There are many factors to be considered in terms of player transfers fees these days. I believe that that cost of other local commodities in our individual countries today are not the same as it was in 2009. The price of tickets and TV rights have also increased. Also this was a panic buy for Newcastle and Stuggart know that Newcastle were having problems in securing a striker after several failed attempts to get their other targets and Isak future really not sorted out. It was a great avenue to extort Newcastle. On a normal day were everything is settled, this player won't cost this much. I don't blame Newcastle for paying this much. Isak didn't make things easier for them.
Look, you can be right about many things that changed in the last 15 years but there is no way, and I repeat, no way, that a 23 year old player who scored 24 goals in his career (10 of these playing in the German third division) is worth 90 millions. It just doesn't make any sense, the numbers don't make any sense, had they pay him 30-35 millions would have already been a lot, let alone 90 millions. What did he do to be worth 90 millions?
