So, I paid my food bill in Bitcoin. The bill amount was small, but paying for food with Bitcoin gave me a wonderful feeling—something that’s hard to express in words.
If a bill value is small, and you paid it in bitcoin on chain, you will pay very expensive on chain transaction fee. It would be especially expensive if you use centralized exchanges, platforms and submit your withdrawal from those platforms for your payment for food.
It would be cheaper if you use non custodial wallets for storing your bitcoin, then broadcasting your on chain transactions with freedom to choose fee rates.

Generally I don't know your story is true or fabricated.
It seems from your words that you are not very updated about recent on-chain transactions. Currently, the on-chain fees are very low. However, I have paid bills using the Lightning Network. As you may know, with the Lightning Network it is possible to pay small bills within a few seconds at a very minimal fee – as little as 0.000001 BTC.
And yes, I am speaking from my real-life experience, not from any made-up story.
