Not really, perhaps Amorim is just having trouble choosing a more appropriate formation for his current players because those strong teams play more structured, which can lead Manchester United to that kind of play, even if they ultimately lose. But when facing a less strong team like yesterday, Manchester United didn't play much better and only won thanks to luck, with penalties and an own goal. I'd also like to see Amorim use a different formation than usual so we can all see a slightly different result than what Manchester United are currently experiencing.
Not really that difficult to pick any decent formation for this team. If he wasn't so set on his system, we could have seen them do a lot better. The front is so obviously, I have no idea if Cunha is alright or not, but assuming that he is alright, put him on left wing as an inside forward, like yeah he is a winger, but not all the way to throw in line, but closer to striker, and same for Mbuemo for the right wing, and then Sesko is striker and Bruno is behind them.
That's it, you already have the four horsemen of doom right there. Then you just let rest of the team be a bit more defense. Put whoever you are putting on goal (no idea if they are getting a new goalkeeper) and defense should be Yoro, and Martinez when he gets back, de ligth until then, midfield is Mainoo and Ugarte, Diallo is good too so he could be put somewhere, Mount wasn't bad too ,he can get in late in the game. Basically this is your team, you do this, and you win.
