Arsenal's performance in the first half was decent . If Arsenal could have continued this trend in the second half, then maybe the team would not have lost the match. But in the second half, Mikel arteta decided to change tactics. And he probably wanted to end the match 0- 0. Arsenal's players attacked very little in the second half. The team could not make a single on target shot. Arsenal should have played aggressively in this match. Then the match would have been more exciting. We would have seen more goals from both teams.
I had to go through so many replies to see who exactly watched the game, and i guess you did.
Just like you said, Arsenal's plan in the game today was to get a draw. Liverpool on the other hand where not even playing like the Liverpool i used to know. They where a bit calm on attack, which was quite strange. At some point, i started asking myself if the game was fixed, but i guess it wasn't. Arteta seem to have too many respect for Liverpool especially at Anfied. They played better in the first half, which i actually expected more from them in the second half, but i guess the 10mins break wasn't to boost their moral to winning the game, but it was settle with the draw.
I personally don't like blaming players too much, but i guess Arteta's approach to the game was not good. I would have said the same thing about slot if Arsenal had ended up winning the game. Congrats to Liverpool by the way. They showed us why they are the champions even though they didn't play like the Liverpool that we used to know, but who cares?, 3 points in the bag, so unto the next.
