One of main problem in the football transfer these days is inflation. Time flies so fast in football. I'm getting shocked when Newcastle paid 90m for a striker who came from nowhere. Meanwhile, 90m could give us Ronaldo at 2009. It seems the inflation in football is uncontrollable.
Sometimes, i think football these days much more on business instead of passion. Priced a player that literally no one’s heard of close to the 100m is so crazy as hell. Things worsen when Newcastle agreed to buy him.

We may be seeing 4th tier player may be priced millions soon.

Inflation is not only a problem for football. Since 2009, prices for basic consumer goods have increased several times, if you take real estate, gold, etc., there has also been a huge increase.
This is the main factor. Another factor is that the weight of the media business has increased greatly during this time (in parallel with the cheapness and availability of fast Internet) so all the related businesses (football is a media business to a large extent) have grown even more.

There's certainly a serious inflation problem worldwide, but I still can't understand why these players are being paid so much. He's not even a world-class player, how can he command a price tag of around 90 million? I had no idea Newcastle were so generous; they must be making so much money.
They might have considered him an investment; if he has a good season, they could sell him for a higher price in a year or two. But it still doesn't seem very wise to me
