I'm quite surprised to see how City were beaten by a team like Brighton. They should have won this match, but somehow lost momentum in the second half. They were dominant in the first half and even scored the opening goal through Haaland. However, their defense was poor, and they lost their rhythm, which ultimately led to their defeat.
Guardiola himself lamented City's loss to Brighton, emphasizing that the new players had not fully integrated, which caused a lack of balance in the game and contributed to the defeat.
But I don't think this is a serious problem for City, because they can definitely improve and bounce back in the next matches considering the quality of the squad they have and Guardiola's experience in managing the team.

Let's all laugh at Pep  Cheesy He clearly delayed his departure from City. This is the second defeat in a row and maybe the story of last season will not be repeated (after all, there were expensive emergency purchases), but a City comeback looks highly unlikely. It will be interesting to see how much the bookies lower the City odds, before this round they were 5.50. I think it should be something like 8.0-9.0 already.
If Pep Guardiola fails to improve Manchester City's performance this season, there's is big chance he wouldn't remain Manchester City head coach because it would be obvious that Pep Guardiola is finished. I think the bookies lower Manchester City odds because they believe Pep Guardiola is going to overhaul Manchester City's squad this season, which will make Manchester City to compete in the Premier League this season.
