In order to trust the advice of friends, they must be experts and understand football better than I do myself. But since I don't have such friends, I make the decision on my own. And if my prediction turns out to be wrong and I lose money, then no one else will be to blame for this, since the responsibility for the decision lies solely with me.
Even if I have friends who are better than me in football, which I have many of them, they can't decide how I treat my bet. It's my money; I have the final say over it. I can choose to take their advice and cash out if I'm not too sure of my prediction, or I can also follow my own instincts and stick to it. I don't need to give them much explanation aside from "I just want to allow the game to run," and however the game turns out to be, I either take the fall alone and move on or rejoice over my decision not to cash out.
