Barcelona could not perform as expected today.
I'm not at all surprised by the draw in the Rayo Vallecano vs. Barcelona match. Rayo Vallecano is often strong at home, and they often make top teams fail to win. And today it happened again to Barcelona at Rayo Vallecano's home ground, but I won't immediately assume that Barcelona has become bad because apart from this being just the beginning of the season, there are still many opportunities for teams like Barcelona to catch up with other teams at the top of the La Liga standings this season.
What I saw in this match was that Barcelona wasn't very dominant in attack. While Barcelona usually takes a lot of shots to stifle their opponents, they only managed 12 shots, with only three on target. Rayo were more aggressive, with six shots on target, though only one of them managed to find the back of the net.
Rayo played well at home, not being provoked by Barcelona ability and at least managed to hold on for a draw.
Real Madrid are certainly very happy with this result, as it gives them a chance to temporarily move top of the table.
