Let us say, having illusion or not, we know for ourselves that we definitely need control with our gambling habits. Otherwise, we can easily fall to addiction. It is the reason why we can be out of addiction if we have such containment in ourselves. So we don't just need illusion but the actual control of it.

I think aside from discipline which is the most popular and accepted way to control addiction, another thing I would also like us to talk more about is contentment. If you want to stay out of gambling addiction, you must also learn to be contented with what you have and what you target. Many people lose to gambling because of their over ambitious minds. Their minds tell them they will become millionaires and billionaires through betting and because of that, they're lived and driven by such emotions and illusions. I have a friend who became so attached to gambling and nearly became an addict or at some point was an addict and the reason behind it was because he had a friend who luckily won some few millions in my country's currency about twice or three times consecutively, because of that, my friend started gambling left right and center to an extent he was even dreaming of himself making multiple millions of dollars gambling. We had to sit him down and schooled him several times not to allow such illusions get over the better part of him which was already happening before he later came back to his senses.
