Maybe the people who are actually working for themselves are those who do not need people or to satisfy any customer to make profit, example like the traders who do not need to lure customers to their shop like business owners or hotel owners, or taxi owner that need to follow instructions from their clients etc.

What could be the real definition of working for yourself?

For me working for yourself entails a lot but necessarily when one work for themselves it means they are solely in charge of the affairs of their business leading to the end users which is their customers, and they can go extra miles in making sure they achieve a great deal of profit.

Yeah when working for yourself you need to satisfy your customers that's one major criteria and at the same time get that satisfaction that you've done so well, it's more or less recycling back from you the business owner to the consumers your customers.
