If you get statistical and logical, you will remove these thoughts and you will not become overconfident or superstitious.

I agree, casinos trap gamblers, then set an illusion through missed wins to think that gamblers can win the game even setting their bet higher just to recover the previous losses, and it becomes a cycle.  Thus it would be harder for gamblers who failed to see the illusion to get out from that trap.

But there is a solution to this: whenever one finds himself chasing losses or chasing wins, he should give himself a break.  This way, the gambler's mind won't be filled with simulations of gambling strategy and will have a clearer view of his situation.  This also spills an ice to a hot pursuit of winning, making the emotion of the gambler calmer.  With a calmer mind and stable emotion, gambler can then slowly uncover the illusion and from that can pull himself out of the illusion and eventually from the trap.
