Arsenal fans should never blast this man Schmeichel, he said the truth about how awful Arsenal was in that encounter against Liverpool and you'd agree with me that this was the same way the Gunners played against Manchester United. To me the Gunners would have won these two games if they had approach the games in a different way not always wait for set pieces, it worked more last seson doesn't mean it will always work this time around. Arsenal can not win the EPL title or any other title with this low mentality, Liverpool wasn't as sharp as they were in their first game and they would have made good use of that opportunity and the formation and players Arteta used made the attacker look useless in that game for the Gunners.
I don't think arsenal played badly in the game, it a game won by a wonderful free kick. The only issue I had with Arteta was him playing Mikel Merino when he knows he needs creativity in the team. The most annoying thing is that he has a lot of creative options, but still choose to play Merino and I think that's the major issue Arteta had in the match. How will he play the game that way, when you have a wonderful striker upfront and he needs assist to score goals and you choose to play such team without creativity. That's really poor on Arteta's side. He has got the team and he can win the league if he goes all out to attack any team he is playing against. Aside from the selection, I think Arsenal has a good game and they really mad it hard for Liverpool.
That game was too boring especially how Arsenal was making the whole thing look like they were too special but Liverpool on the other hand was also playing like they are not organized from the back to the frontline which made me say that Arsenal could have put on a better display and if you check how Liverpool play, it was like they are lacking something. Now Slot played with a midfielder [Szoboszlai] who's not too strong as a right back but Arsenal could not make use of that wing instead Szoboszlai was having a good day by making things hard for the Arsenal players.
Like what is Arteta's plan when he sees a team that have a weaker spot? That's why I love Pep Guardiola, he'd make sure that spot will receive enough pressure till he gets what he wants, about 2-3 players that can dribble through will be on that very position of Szoboszlai since he's not a natural RB, that's a big difference between a coach who's hungry [Pep Guardiola] to get a win and the one [Arteta] who only wants to give the fans a show to remember.
