So here’s the question, do you believe the league itself could be the mastermind, doing this to beat the betting public? And if this is really happening but can’t be proven, what’s our approach as bettors to still make a profit from it?
First of all I do not think that the league could be the rigged itself so there is no question to me whether it could be public or not and what will be the result if it happens or what to do to prevent. I think the player, referre and/or the team owner can be the rigger and they could betrey with the team as well as the community.

Club owner, players, and referees can directly influence the flow of a match, which is why they are more likely to be involved in match fixing. In some cases that have been revealed to the public, especially in football, the league organizers were not involved. The consequences for match fixing are severe, one of them is being banned from playing for life.

Currently, match fixing cases are rare, especially in major leagues like the Premier League. I am not sure if this kind of thing still happens frequently in less popular leagues. What is clear is that with technological advances like VAR, I think match fixing is becoming increasingly rare, because it's very easy to detect.
