Just a couple years ago Denver looked ready to win several championships. Are they in position to be a real contender this year?
As long as Jokic is with them, the chance is there. But they need to strengthen their roster IMHO.
The current that they have isn't that consistent at all. They have no longer Russ AFAIK and they need one athletic guy. They can't built around MPJ.
I even cheered them to have a back to back championship but every year is a challenge to all teams. But at least, they've got their ring already.
Russel Westbrook is a choker when he is needed badly while showing explosiveness on games that his teammates performing good. His hustle plays somehow effective when he is doing it but he is not consistent plying that way.
His brick shots is the other thing that needs to be considered. He is bricking shot together with MPJ. Nuggets done a good job to finally release inconsistent MPJ and welcome players that do the hustle play because that’s what they need now.
