Some day gas and crude oil will be a thing of the past. With innovations here and there. In your own opinion what will replace gas and crude oil in the international market.
Some day within the distant future, my friend. Probably within the next 10-20 years. For now, gas and crude oil will remain "King". Even if alternative energy promises to reduce carbon footprint and make our world greener. In the case of cars, EVs (Electric Vehicles) are starting to gain traction. Of course, most of them are utterly-expensive. But that's usually the case with new technologies. With due time, prices will lower to a point where everyone can afford one. The tech is still in its infancy, with some owners reporting their EVs catching fire or exploding. Especially the Tesla ones. It EVs need to be improved if they're ever going to become mainstream.
As for domestic energy production, solar and wind energy prove to be quite promising. All of these innovations while good, aren't worthy enough to replace the oil industry in its entirety. But who knows? Money talks, so if big investors start pouring money into alternative energy, the oil industry will become history. One can only hope...
