Maybe, or maybe they’re going to package Giannis and Thanasis as a package to get even more assets in return. Not that the couple million will make a big difference, but when you’re scrounging for every asset you can, you gotta take advantage of what you’ve got. That may be what we’re seeing here.
This makes a lot more sense to me. Giannis is known to like to play with Thanasis, otherwise Thanasis would have been out of the league already, long long ago, probably never even be in the league.
In fact, I have seen how Alex brother plays, and I honestly believe that kid is better than Thanasis, still not at an NBA level, if he was then he would be there, but he plays decently right now, better than Thanasis.
Giannis could go to some other team, and he will want Thanasis there too, with this way, instead of being free agent and picked up, Bucks will say they have what Giannis wants, so ask for more this way as a duo.
I know Bucks do not want to lose Giannis, they would rather keep him if they can, but all arrows point at him leaving. He doesn't have a team to win the title around him anymore, so he wants to go to a team that can actually get the title with his help.
Not sure what they are going to do, because not that many teams have the package to get Giannis, it's going to be a very tough trade.
Financially, he is paid a lot, but most teams have good players in that salary range, meaning if a team gets Giannis, they are going to probably get rid of their best player too, and not many people would be fine with that.
