I really hope that some Italian team will reach the final this season too, even if i honestly think it will be more difficult.
Atalanta faces PSG, i think they're done for before they even start.
While Napoli faces a strong Manchester City, it will be very tough for the Italian teams.
Seriously, I don't see any Italian team making it to this season's Champions League finals, the one that tried last season won't make it this season because I don't even understand what they are doing currently on the pitch. Maybe it's Napoli that will try but they won't make it that far to the finals. Atlanta won't even get past the Quarter finals that's if they happen to get to the playoffs.
Why are you so certain that none of the Italian teams will make it that far in the competition, I mean there are times when even the most weak teams tend to find their stride in other competitive competition and then at the same time perform poorly in their league. There are some Italian teams I can boost of and that's the likes on Napoli and inter Milan, if there is any of the teams atleast this two can turn up and make an impact.
