This sport has become so sensitive. Which team fires their coach after only 2 months, that's kinda ridiculous don't you think. Even if there is a disconnect with the team, first thing would be trying to figure things out. 2 months is nothing and trust and a good working relationship takes time to develop. Firing a coach so fast is a bad sign and really shows all the things that are wrong with this sport at the moment.
I agree with you, he made a press release that when I read it I realized that he was very right in what he said:
𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋: Erik ten Hag releases his statement after being 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 by Bayer Leverkusen
“The decision by Bayer Leverkusen’s management to put me on a leave of absence came as a 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞”.
“To part ways with a head coach after just two league matches is something absolutely 𝐮𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝”.
“This summer, many key players who were part of the past successes left the squad. Building a new team is careful process that requires both time and trust”.
“A new manager deserves the space to implement his vision, set the standards, shape the squad, leave his mark on the style of play”.
“I started this job with full conviction and energy, but unfortunately the management was not willing to grant me the time and trust I needed, which I deeply regret. I feel this was 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 relationship based on mutual trust”.
“Throughout my career, every season I have been able to see through to end as a coach has brought success. Clubs that placed their trust in me have been rewarded with success and silverware”.
“Finally, I would like to thank Leverkusen supporters for their warmth and passion, and so I wish the squad and staff every success for the remainder of the season”.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DOJJ69FDMrX/He's right. Leverkusen's management sold its good players. The squad wasn't the same when Erik ten Hag arrived, so he started signing new players. It takes time for new players to get used to the team. But the management forgot about that and fired Erik ten Hag after just a few league games. It makes no sense, considering Erik ten Hag isn't to blame.
I keep wondering who the coach would be who would accept working with Leverkusen's management knowing he could be fired in two games? If a good coach likes to have a good reputation, then they wouldn't accept being Leverkusen's coach only to meet the same fate as Erik ten Hag.
