You're right that anyone who crosses their limits could eventually face addition that's a pure fact, on a norms once a gambler have exceeded their limit the next step is to pause for a while or the day rather, even though the person lose, there's no need to continue by funding again and chasing loses cause that's one of the first steps to addiction, therefore to avoid getting addicted quiting for a while is the best approach. Anyways every gambler should know their preferred budget, it should be according to their financial capacity and how much they can afford to lose.
Someone who is addicted to gambling will not be able to resist gambling for long. I have a friend who was completely unfamiliar with gambling, but because his circle of friends now includes gamblers, he was carried away. And what's more terrifying is that he himself has become an addict. Even when he doesn't have money, he finds ways to get it and then deposits it to gamble. Loss after loss occurs, but this doesn't stop him, instead it makes him even more thirsty for victory, so he chases it.
