Last season Olympique Marseille did started off so brilliantly that I was amongst the  persons who taught for once PSG may likely not win the Ligue 1 title last season because Marseille was pretty much ready to challenge them enough to distort their chances but it got surprising how Marseille did not finish at the second position.  Let us see what they have got for this season.
They've only picked up three points in three matches this season. They're less promising than last year. You'd expect Marseille to only drop points against Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco. But they've already suffered defeats against Lyon and Lille this season. Frankly, I don't have high hopes for them. They'll be fighting for a Champions League spot in France. I don't think there's a team that can beat Paris Saint-Germain in France again this year.
There's definitely going to be a twist in the french league one this season if things continue the way it's going. The fight will be farore stronger and Marseille may not find themselves anywhere close to the top even though they finished last season at the second place with 65 points. Their transfer market too was not bad since they spent more to bring in players from top flight seria A league. Anyways, the season is still young and even though they have picked up only 3 points in 3 games, they can still find their way to the top from the remaining 31 games.
They have to fight hard to stay on top in the remaining matches. They've already suffered two defeats, and this has negatively impacted the team. Their morale has also plummeted because they wanted to start the league on a high note. Of course, 31 matches is a very high number. After playing so many matches, they could fight for second place again, but the truth is, there's no team in the French league that can surpass Paris Saint-Germain.
