Do you think that these charges can stand in court? Did Phillip Dong Fang Lee want to recover his losses through legal remedy?
Do you think this is going to be a bad precedent if Phillip Dong Fang Lee wins the case, and casinos should check the behavior of their players if they are exploiting their addiction?
Casinos wants to make more money which will make them offer some benefits to high rollers. That's business and every firm does promotion to keep their high profile clients loyal to their brand. Casinos are not psychiatric organisation that can dictate people who are addicted. The casino will be guilty if the gambler have notified them of his struggles with addiction and wants them to limit his gambling activities.

I am also amazed that a mature individual will sign a document he doesn't understand. He should have sort the services of an interpreter or legal practitioner before signing any document.

Based on the information on this article, i don't think he would win the case except there are other undisclosed evidence. I have never seen any law that mandates casinos to check the behavior of gamblers periodically, it could be privacy invasion.
