Ukraine had to be under a lot of pressure at the beginning of the match due to Olise goal. It was known that France would win because of their performance. Most of the time in the match France's attacking play has been displayed. Although the time gap from the first goal to the second goal was long. In the whole match France possession was 56% and made 16 shots, but only 6 of them were good for the target. On the other hand, Ukraine played only 8 shots, but only 3 of them were good for the target. In the 65th minute, Ukraine had a chance, but Konate did not allow him to use that chance.
France has got a team quality Ukraine would not be able to beat just with an attempt and so the victory is one that was expected very much. Until the squad depth and strength of the Ukrainian team gets better, a team like France with the many talented young players is not a squad that Ukraine will ever find easy to defeat at a go. The match statistics made it clear that France was not just lucky but were deserving of the whole thing.
