Germany - Portugal match was pretty interesting. Portugal entered the last quarter trailing by 1 point, but ended up losing by 27 points.
Indeed, Portugal gave a great fight, but eventually they couldn't last until the end and deliver one of the biggest surprises in Eurobasketball. This game, along with the previous one between Turkey and Sweden, shows how different things are now and that every team will have to be serious and fight hard. Good for us who see such great games!

I've seen this in many matches: If your opponent is strong, you play with the same motivation, but if your opponent is weak, you're weak too. Portugal didn't score, but Germany was no different. Especially in the first two periods.
Portugal led 32-31 at halftime, but I was so confident Portugal would lose that Portugal completely fell apart in the final period. Germany poured in points, but Portugal seemed to be shooting stones at the basket, not balls. Portugal scored 7 points in the final period and lost by a landslide. The weaker teams are eliminated one by one in this round. Tomorrow's toughest matches will be Italy vs. Slovenia and Israel vs. Greece, both of which are tied.
