Bitcoin may be a fast and cheap means to receive funds especially from overseas, yet it isn't usually the safest or even cheapest for all.
I totally disagree with you on what you just said above about Bitcoin not being the safest means of receiving payment across borders here in Nigeria. Because to be frankly speaking, can you name one medium of receiving payment across border here in Nigeria that is more safer than Bitcoin? Because I can boldly say that none exist in this country, to be compared with Bitcoin that even offers an added advantage where users can also have full control of their funds.
There are fees which depends on the network at that particular time, and the price is volatile too. As for safety, it protects when you have knowledge on how to store properly, yet when careless, you may lose all your money.
It's applicable to every means of payment, whereby if you are careless, you will always surely lose your funds. And that's a more reason why before using any, it's good to always have good knowledge of how it works. Because even the most common payment gateway been used in Nigeria "Opay", if a user who doesn't know how to operate it tries to transfer funds from it they may make mistake. That's why it's always good to learn from those who already knows how to use such, including with Bitcoin.
