Making various transactions, either for goods or services is part of the activities of individuals and households. Obviously the utilization of the flexibility of Bitcoin for these transactions is on the rise, but something we're yet to experience, is using Bitcoin for micro transactions; gaming, online tipping, unlock assets of content creation, just to mention a few. For flat currencies, smaller units of the currencies may be in short supply to make such transactions. Households and individuals will surely be jumping at the prospect of the option of Bitcoin for these nature of transactions.
Maybe you haven't used that but go else in some Youtube contents and you'd see some descriptions on their boxes that says if you want to help them or supprot them with their contents, there's a bitcoin address and as well as other coins for tipping.

There's also the lightning network and maybe you also haven't heard of that which is good for micro transactions for being quick and having relatively low fees.

It's only a matter of time until the majority of the households and even merchants will start learning about it. But I think they'll receive BTC payments so they can also hold just like us and won't sell it or automatically convert it through third party payment processors.
