I completely agree with you. It's just a matter of time. Why do people so stubbornly refuse to notice elementary things? The world is constantly changing and developing technologically. Therefore, raw materials in the form of oil and gas will fade into the background and will be used in minimal quantities. Still, humanity will face a choice between environmentally friendly energy sources or its own survival.

If people are stubborn, they will not give up coal and switch to oil and gas. Or if they are stubborn, they will not pour so much money and time into researching and inventing other alternative energy sources.

The problem is that replacing oil and gas is not as easy as we think, if not impossible. We can only reduce our dependence on them somewhat, but we cannot replace and eliminate them completely.

Like coal, they are not being eliminated completely, we are just reducing their use. They are still used in many countries and in industries such as steel and cement because they help reduce costs significantly.
