Could be off topic but what's wrong in living with parents ? After all, we are from India and it's quite normal in here to live with parents.
In fact, some people live in a joint family and so even if we have lots of money, I don't think living with parents is something wrong ?
This is something can relate to when we are Asians and in other part of the world it is considered as taboo, Do you remember the host asked Aishwarya Rai about living with her parents and what she replied to shut him down.

It's part of our culture and that's how we used to be but also we keep our finances separate to each other and help them when they are in needs but slowly the trend is changing due to western influence.
To be honest, I personally like one thing about the western countries that once their child turns 18, the parents encourage the child to live on his own.
So the child eventually has to earn on his own and pay his own bills and does what he wants to do.
May be this is something I will try on my child too when he turns 18.
Ngl, after Covid, moving in with family and then joint family including my in laws was one of the best decision of my life.
I mean closed friend group is all good but the kind of support and security you get in joint family is unparalleled. You will have some issues here n there like differences in opinion, privacy and chota mota nuak jokh but pros trumps all the cons
I am currently living a joint family too and while there are pros and cons, it's hard to maintain the harmony among everyone.
The difference in opinion as you say matters a lot and especially when your wife has a different opinion compared to others.
